Tim’s 174 Sportline

The brief

Tim started looking for a van because the running his Dodge Viper V10 Pick-up was proving expensive to say the least. He met Dan from VisionTech at a VW show where he saw his van and instantly became hooked. With similar hobbies to Dan, Tim wanted a van with plenty of power to one tow his wake boarding boat, and secondly for long motorway trips to the Alps snowboarding as well as weekends away.

What we did

We sourced a low mileage 174 SWB panel van, replaced front bumper to Sportline spec, adding rear spoiler and sidebars at the same time. Attention was then focused on fitting Bilstein coilovers for comfort and ride height adjustment, to complement the 20”Polished Wheels.

In the front there are two captain seats. We created an L shaped luxury leather trimmed seat that also pulls out into a double bed. Within the seats there is a top-loading fridge hidden out of view.

We upgraded the whole audio system in this van and fitted a roof mounted HD monitor. At the rear of the van we created a pull out drawer with plenty of shelving to one side.

From the owner

“Dan understood exactly what I wanted from a van. I love what he and his team created for me. I can’t fill up at the petrol station now without someone commenting on my van.”
